The e-Journal Global Summitry

globalsummitryproject.substack.com

Distracted for a bit by other matters - I’m back now. The Global Summitry Project or GSP is responsible for the e-Jornal, Global Summitry https://globalsummitryproject.com/e-journal.  The e-Journal is but the latest incarnation of continuing Journal content that goes back to before 2015. The Journal has had various publishers but the focus has always been on global governance and security - global order problems that  intergovernmental institutions, states, substate and non-state actors meet, or struggle over.

Most recently I have focused the Journal on publishing a series of Special Issues (SI). The first, as you can see from visiting the website: https://globalsummitryproject.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Global-Summitry-Special-Issue-e-Journal-FallWinter-2021-2022-Updated-Version.pdf was titled “Strengthening Global Governance by Strengthening the G20”.

The current SI is now titled “Strengthening Global Governance by Achieving the SDGs”.  The SDGs - the Sustainable Development Goals - have a long evolution which we will review in our next Post. But first let’s at least identify the SDGs.

SDGs - (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/health/)

Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere

Goal 2: Zero Hunger

Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Goal 4: Quality Education

Goal 5: Gender Equality: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation: Ensure access to water and sanitation for all

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy

Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities: Reduce inequality within and among countries

Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

Goal 13: Climate Action: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Goal 14: Life Below Water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources

Goal 15: Life on Land: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss

Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: Promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies

Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

What is all this global development about? Well, I shall return to it all and the first articles for the SI: Strengthening Global GOvernance by Achieving the SDGs.
