Writing as a US citizen and former member of the military, the veto must be abolished if we are to ever end the scourge of endless war and recurring genocide. We have international law but no international law enforcement that can hold the major powers (particularly the US, China and Russia) accountable when they decide to invade a foreign country , eg. Iraq, Afghanistan and Ukraine or to block action that would prevent genocide, eg. Rwanda.
